چکیده

We study the integral uniform (multicommodity) flow problem in a graph G and construct a fractional solution whose properties are invariant under the action of a group of automorphisms Γ < Aut(G). The fractional solution is shown to be close to an integral solution (depending on properties of Γ), and in particular becomes an integral solution for a class of graphs containing Cayley graphs. As an application we estimate asymptotically (up to additive error terms) the edge congestion of an optimal integral uniform flow (edge forwarding index) in the cube connected cycles and the butterfly. ∗The research of the first author was supported by NSF grant CCR-9528228. Research of the second author was supported in part by the Hungarian NSF contracts T 016 358 and T 019 367, and by the NSF contract DMS 97

Forwarding index of cube-connected cycles

For a given connected graph G of order v, a routing R in G is a set of v(v − 1) elementary paths specified for every ordered pair of vertices in G. The vertex (resp. edge) forwarding index of G is the maximum number of paths in R passing through any vertex (resp. edge) in G. Shahrokhi and Székely [F. Shahrokhi, L.A. NURBS-Based Isogeometric Analysis Method Application to Mixed-Mode Computational Fracture Mechanics

An interaction integral method for evaluating mixed-mode stress intensity factors (SIFs) for two dimensional crack problems using NURBS-based isogeometric analysis method is investigated. The interaction integral method is based on the path independent J-integral. By introducing a known auxiliary field solution, the mixed-mode SIFs are calculated simultaneously. Among features of B-spline basis...

Design an Efficient Community-based Message Forwarding Method in Mobile Social Networks

Mobile social networks (MSNs) are a special type of Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) in which mobile devices communicate opportunistically to each other. One of the most challenging issues in Mobile Social Networks (MSNs) is to design an efficient message forwarding scheme that has a high performance in terms of delivery ratio, latency and communication cost. There are two different approaches fo...

A Benders' Decomposition Method to Solve Stochastic Distribution Network Design Problem with Two Echelons and Inter-Depot Transportation

In many practical distribution networks, managers face significant uncertainties in demand, local price of building facilities, transportation cost, and macro and microeconomic parameters. This paper addresses design of distribution networks in a supply chain system which optimizes the performance of distribution networks subject to required service level. This service level, which is consider...
